Continuing with tradition and consistent success, tickets are now on sale for the CFUW Orillia annual Homes for Scholarships Tour.
The event falls on Sunday June 2, 2024 from noon until 5 p.m. This year CFUW Orillia is celebrating 50 years since our very first homes tour back in 1974. To honour this milestone, the fundraising goal this year is set at $50,000. Through the sale of tickets, picnic lunches, general donations, and other initiatives, we hope to make this goal a reality. Now that we are a charitable organization we can issue tax receipts for donations.
Along with showcasing five gorgeous homes, this year‘s ticket holders have a bonus ’50s-themed garage on the tour to enjoy. Your ticket also enters you into a draw for one of the 19 door prizes with winners announced on tour day.
It is important to note that presently tickets are on sale for $30, until May 6, at which time the price will increase to $40. Buying your ticket before noon on May 9 will ensure you are eligible for the Mother’s Day prize draw. One lucky ticket holder will receive a Dragonfly Room Salon Spa gift package valued at $560. This year the online auction will include three beautiful items donated by local artists.
The popular picnic lunch this year is back at Couchiching Beach Park. If you ordered lunch online, come to the park to enjoy sandwiches and treats catered by Krew Catering Co., music by the Saxy Sisters and the wonderful lake views.
This event is a very important fundraiser for CFUW Orillia. Many women have benefited from receiving a scholarship to help finance post-secondary education and have gratefully accepted these scholarships, some of whom you may meet on the tour.
CFUW Orillia is thrilled to have a 50-year tradition of Homes for Scholarships Tours within this community.
