Stephen Leacock Associates is pleased to announce that its gala weekend will take place on Sept. 15 and 16, 2023.
The long list of 10 books and authors that now qualify for the Leacock Medal for Humour of 2023 was announced on June 1, 2023. A short list of three will be announced on Aug. 1, and the winner of the medal will be announced at the gala dinner in Severn on Sept. 16.
Tickets for the events of the gala weekend are now available to the general public.
The two major events of the weekend are the Meet the Authors and Student Showcase evening on Friday, Sept. 15, and the Leacock Medal award gala dinner on Saturday, Sept. 16.
Both events will be held at the Hawk Ridge Golf Club, 1151 Hurlwood Lane, Severn. The associates are delighted to welcome Terry Fallis (a two-time previous medal winner) and Morgan Murray (runner-up for the medal in 2021) as masters of ceremony for the two evenings.
