Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake

Freezing rain expected tonight.

Hazards:
Freezing rain with ice accretion of five mm possible.

Timing:
Overnight into late Wednesday morning.

Discussion:
Freezing rain is expected to develop overnight or early Wednesday morning and continue into the late morning before temperatures rise above the freezing mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Ice buildup may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

Discussion: Rain is expected to move into the region overnight or Wednesday morning. With temperatures expected to fall to near the freezing mark, a brief period of freezing rain is possible. Temperatures should rise well above the freezing mark as the morning progresses.
