Vendors brew up good business at Rib and Craft Beer Fest (7 photos)

Northern Heat Rib Series returns to Orillia for another successful weekend

For meat and beer lovers, this weekend was a total smokeshow at Tudhope Park.

The Orillia Rib and Craft Beer Fest returned with more food, more beer and more activities.

This is the first year Cowbell Brewing Co., of Blyth, has joined the Northern Heat Rib Series, travelling from venue to venue to share its love of craft beer.

“It’s been a really busy weekend,” said Kieran Melady, the brewery’s event team lead. “We’ll definitely be doing more.”

He sold 1,600 cups of beer on Friday and Saturday and expected to crack 2,000 by the end of the weekend.

“People have loved it,” he said of the beer, particularly the company’s Shindig lager, of which he sold at least 12 kegs’ worth on the weekend. “It’s insanely popular.”

The weekend also included craft vendors, bouncy castles, ax throwing and live music.
