Are you looking for a way to empower our community? Looking to make a difference in your own backyard? Looking to support families through impact, not just donation? WE might be looking for you.

Women Empowered Unite Communities (WE Unite) invites our dedicated community members to make a difference and apply to our board of directors.

This is a great time to get involved with WE Unite. We are seeking both board members and volunteers to round out our team. You’ll have the opportunity to help lead a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting our community.

WE Unite began as a way to connect in an increasingly detached society. Growing from one woman to hundreds, the organization has bloomed into a movement rooted in philanthropy.

“We have 12 years of really great turnkey ways that people can go out and help their local community,” said Teena Sauvé, founder and current president of WE Unite. “Our events and initiatives connect the community while supporting people when they need it most.”

Today, WE Unite assists the community through hands-on volunteering, events and gatherings that feed the souls of our community so they can feed the souls of others.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us all of the importance of connection, support, and community. To be able to serve our community’s increased needs, we need dedicated board members and volunteers on our team.

Interested candidates will:

  • Have a strong interest in philanthropy
  • Be supportive and involved in the community
  • Bring creative insights and ideas to help serve the community
  • Have skills in leadership, fundraising, governance, marketing, event planning, budgeting, volunteerism and/or networking
  • Take an active role in events and initiatives
  • Make a personal commitment to the organization in terms of time and effort (on average two hours per month virtually)
  • Participate in the development of long-term and short-term goals and objectives

If this sounds like you or someone you know, please complete the nomination application on our website, www.weunite.ca. If you are nominating someone else, please include their contact information. Board positions are open to anyone interested across Canada. To see a full description of the role please refer to our WE Unite board of directors official posting found on the website.

Each WE Unite volunteer plays a crucial part in strengthening our community and bringing people together. After all, we wouldn’t be WE without you.

WE Unite is a grassroots organization founded in Oro-Medonte. WE Unite strives to support communities in times of tragedy, crisis, illness and loss by making civic engagement more accessible and by facilitating opportunities for personal growth through philanthropy.
