This March break is a chance to take in history and activities while celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Simcoe County Museum.

Guests can check out the Celebrating 90 Years exhibit where you will learn about the museum’s history and discover some of the more popular artifacts from the collection.

Established in 1930 by members of the Women's Institute, who recognized the need to preserve area history, the museum is home to more than 30,000 artifacts which are maintained and displayed in 16 heritage and display buildings, and a 20,000-square-foot complex.

The museum welcomes more than 38,000 visitors annually and has offered educational programming for students since 1992, with a focus on Simcoe County’s history, social sciences, the arts and nature.

Daily activities include traditional birthday games, birthday treat decorating and exploring the galleries. Event rates apply: Museum members and preschoolers are free; adults $8; seniors/youth $6; children $5. No registration is required.
