Twin Lakes Secondary School hosted a charity basketball game to raise money and awareness for The Building Hope campaign.

The students and staff at Twin Lakes saw the opportunity to help out their community by hosting a competitive OPP/staff versus student basketball game coached by teacher Jamie Bell.

Twin’s young athletes went head to head against a stronger and taller OPP/Staff squad. However, the students came out swinging, hitting threes and nailing jumpers by Kellan MacDonald and Vadim “the dream” Boshnyak.

Unfortunately, with some great passing by Twin Lakes teacher Andrew Corry, and great finishes at the rim by officer MacDonald, the OPP/Staff beat the students in the last few minutes of the game.

The school buy-in was a huge success with hundreds of students coming out and cheering on both teams and for fundraising over $600 for the Building Hope project.

We’d like to thank the OPP officers and Twin Lakes Athletic Council for putting on the event in order to support our Orillia community.
