The Orillia Lady Kings house league program wrapped up on Monday night with championship games in each division.

In the U9 division gold-medal game, the Northern Elite Lacrosse team went home with top honours in their 4-2 win over the Stoutts RE/MAX. Isabelle Ouelette-Darling led the champs with two goals, while Harper MacDonell and Georgie Suddaby helped with singles. The Stoutts team fought back with two strong goals from Beya Beaudin.

In the bronze-medal game, St. Louis Bar and Grill came out as winners in a tight 4-3 win over BMO Nesbitt Burns. Grilling the net with goals for St. Louis were Norah Belviso (2), Elanor Delong (1) and Arabella Cooper (1). BMO refused to get burned, with three big goals of their own. Goal scorers were Matilda Walker (1), Peyton Viherjoki (1) and Kayla Beard (1).

In the U11 division, Team Micks ended their season undefeated as gold-medal champs in a hard-fought 8-5 win over 2nd Century Source for Sports. Team Micks was led by Langley Duffy-Wilkinson with four goals, Hayden Daly with two, and Mara McKinney and Adeline MacDonell with a goal each. Assists were noted by Avery Saunders, Harper Simpson, and two by Isla Quinn. 2nd Century battled hard with goals by Charlotte Cronshaw (2), Kylie Homan (2) and Brooklyn Reed (1). Assists were noted by Rebekah Lacroix, Violet Whelan and Isabella Weaver. Morgan Mansfield played strong in net.

The bronze-medal game was another nail biter, as BMO Nesbitt Burns came out with a 7-5 win over the Hillson Eyerillians. BMO invested wisely in their players as Brielle Hodgkinson-Armstrong came out with four goals, while Kindley Driedger, Hannah Pecorella and Leighton Mainer each tallied singles. Karis Davies had no trouble seeing the net for the Hillson Eyerillians as she netted a hat trick, while Kaia Kangster scored twice.

In U13/15 action, teams were combined due to many players celebrating school graduations on Monday night. Mariposa Landscaping teamed up with BMO Nesbitt Burns to win the final game of the season over the Mid Ontario Disposal and Strachan and Morris team. The final score was 7-5 as the season wrapped up for all our players.

A huge thank you goes out to the many sponsors of our program: to BMO Nesbitt Burns, who made a generous donation to the Orillia Lady Kings, allowing all new players to receive a new stick and goggles; to 2nd Century Source for Sports for providing the equipment to our players at a substantial discount; to our team sponsors who donated to the house league program by volunteering to sponsor a team (Mariposa Landscaping, Mid Ontario Disposal, Strachan and Morris Insurance, Hillson Eyerillians, Team Micks, Northern Elite Lacrosse, St. Louis Bar and Grill and the Stoutts RE/MAX).

Finally, a huge thank you to our phenomenal coaches, referees and supervisors who volunteered their time out of the goodness of their hearts to share their skills, love and passion for the game with our youngest players. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.
