ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently hosted Muskats Splash Meet 3 at the Orillia Recreation Centre.
Clubs from Owen Sound and Muskoka were in attendance along with 75 Channel Cats.
“We had 75 swimmers from our club in attendance, which is the highest number the club has seen in its history,” says head coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards.
Muskats Splash meets are geared towards swimmers who are new to competition. The focus is on having fun and gaining racing experience along the way. These meets can also provide a great opportunity for more experienced swimmers to try different events in a more relaxed environment.
The following swimmers qualified for Provincial Festivals in the 200-metre individual medley: Brady Bell, Anna Crawley-Blauel, Cheyanne Hawrysio, Hartley Russell, Rydaar Watt and Mila Sekleski. Harrison Levene qualified for Provincial Festivals in the 200-metre butterfly and the 400-metre freestyle. Mila Sekleski also set a new club record in the 10-and-under girls 200-metre butterfly.
