COVID protocols put some local figure skating programs on ice

As a result of Skate Ontario's COVID Return to Play protocols, the Orillia Figure Skating Club will NOT be able to offer our PreCanSkate session for skaters ages 3 to 5 in 2020.

We hope that if things change, we may be able to offer the program in January 2021. More information will be posted on our website in the Learn to Skate tab as details become available.

The Orillia Figure Skating Club WILL be offering our CanSkate program to club skaters who are working on their Stage 3 badge or above.

This program will run from Oct. 14 until Dec. 16, 2020 on Mondays and/or Wednesdays.Priority registration opened the Oct. 2 and will close on Oct. 6 at midnight.

A registration email will be sent to those skaters who qualify. Registration will be limited to 21 participants in each session.

A maximum of 25 individuals are allowed on the ice during a session including skaters, coaches and Program Assistants.

No physical contact is permitted between skaters and coaches.

No parents or spectators will be allowed in the building at this time.

We have adapted our circuits to allow for social distancing on the ice.

Skater of the Month for September

Ner K'pru Shee is 12 years old and a member of the Orillia Figure Skating Club.

She is currently working on her Star 4 skills, Swing dance and will compete at the Star 3 level in free skate. She also enjoys singing and playing the piano. Ner has a bubbly personality and is a joy to teach! She is coached by Susan Scott.
