Free clinic to be offered to kick off Orillia Tennis Club season

Warm weather is on its way and that means a new tennis season can’t be far behind.

This year, the Orillia Tennis Club will kick off its summer season May 12 with a free tennis clinic that is open to the public.

The clinic will be run by local tennis pro Peter Koehli. A session for beginners will start at 9 a.m. with a session aimed at more advanced players beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Club will “open” for action at the four tennis courts at the West Orillia Sports Complex on May 19. There are new court times this year. The Orillia Tennis Club has the courts seven days a week from 9 a.m. until noon and Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Membership rates are as follows:

Adults: $75 (before June 1) $80 (after June 1)

Family: $150 (before June 1) $160 (after June 1)

Students 18 and under: $25 (before June 1) $30 (after June 1)

The club operates programs from May through September and has various leagues for players of all ages and experience levels.
