Lady Kings battle for playoff position

With playoffs looming, action has heated up in Orillia Lady Kings Houseleague Lacrosse play

With playoffs looming, action has heated up in Orillia Lady Kings house league Lacrosse play as teams battle for position before next week's semi-finals. TD Canada Trust remain undefeated as they defeated Scetto Construction by a slim 4-2 margin. Eiley Hayes, Molly Bergeron, Presley Benedek and Makenna Fairchild paced the winners with markers while Amelia Scetto would score a pair for the construction gang.

Mariposa Landscaping would leapfrog into second place with a 4-0 victory over Pepper Haulage as Elle Lynch would score a pair of goals with single markers come from the sticks of Emily Bell and Langley Duffy-Wilkinson. Next weeks semi-finals will pit TD Canada Trust up against Pepper Haulage and Mariposa Landscaping will face off against Scetto Construction.

In U11 play, Freeman AutoSource have yet to earn a win as they lost to 1st place Telford Property Management by a 7-2 margin. Pacing the winners was Sarah Pilger (2), Carlee Telford, Emma Dongelmans, Alyssa Glass, Cameryn Knee and Jessica Noganosh and helping netminder Emma Pilger earn the victory in net. Pacing the AutoSource attack was Emersyn McLaughlin and Ashleigh Hester.

These two team will face each other again next week to see who can advance to the gold medal game. Game two saw R&F Construction edge Sunshine BBQ by a narrow 4-3 score. Jayden Maracle (2), Brooke-Lynn May and Tessa Patterson led their team to the win while Hayley Ball, Jade Shilling and Danika Tindale replied with goals in a losing cause. Playoff matchups will see Telford Property Management face off against Freeman AutoSource and then Sunshine BBQ and R&F Construction will battle it out in game 2 to see who advances to the dance. 

U13/U15 house league division action would see Peak Engineering earn a well deserved 4-1 win over Champlain Ready Mix. Jaiden Smellie, Melanie Decock,
Hailey Decock and Jessica Sattler notched single markers and Kate Beausoleil would add her own lone goal in the loss. Tryon Construction earned a convincing 8-3 victory over Bradley Homes to round out action in this division.

Two goal efforts from Clare Wilson, Montana Kenny and Sierra Tryon paced the victors. Paige Paddon and Elle Reed also scored singles in aid of Haley Glass who shone in net. Ava Holly Elliott, Madison Sylvester and Catherine Varley would round out the scoring statistics.

1st place TJS Sheet Metal maintained winning momentum earning a close 7-6 victory over West Street Storage. Kayleigh Aitkens paced her team with three goals while Riley Marwick, Melanie Smith and Emma Marwick added goals in the win. Ryin Davidson replied with a hat trick effort in a losing cause and Jayden Taylor would score a pair as well. Avery Paek added a single goal in the loss as well.

In the 2nd match, Emma Torkoff maintained her torrid scoring as she recorded a four-goal, three-assist effort helping Royal Lepage - Dan Parnell cruise to a 12-4 victory over Kutting Edge Promotions Inc. Not to be outdone, Mayson Parnell recorded three goals and Eleanor Waite and Sydney Shawyer each added two goals and Karley Eckstein would round out the winners scoring. Both Makayla Clarke and Bethany Marchant recorded two goals each for the yet to win Kutting Edge Promotions squad.

Playoff action will see TJS Sheet Metal face Kutting Edge Promotions Inc in game one and then Royal Lepage -Dan Parnell squad will face West Street Storage in game two.
