Monday night’s downpour couldn’t dampen the spirits of Orillia Lady Kings field lacrosse players.

Teams were out and ready to play. Though many of the game sheets were soaked and indecipherable, we have some great results to share.

In the U13/15 division, Mid Ontario Disposal didn’t need any more insurance goals in its game against Strachan and Morris. Mid Ontario won with a score of 7-2, with goals by Mya Roe (2), Hayley Ball (2), Jessica Noganosh, Katie Bunting (2) and Ryleigh McGuire (1). Strachan and Morris goals were scored by Rylee Black (2), Cameryn Knee (1) and Alison Rolston (2) with assists from Ella-Rose Macleod and Avery Knee.

Mariposa Landscaping worked hard through all types of weather, with a win over BMO Nesbitt Burns 4-3. Mariposa goals were scored by Makenna Maracle, Ava Rouse (2) and Zoey Gauthier while BMO Nesbitt Burns goal scorers were Emerson McLaughlin and Billie Rouse (2).

In the U11 division, Team Micks found great real estate in front of the net with a 4-2 win over the Hillson Eyerillians. Team Micks goals were scored by Avery Saunders (1), Langley Duffy-Wilkinson (2) and Mara McKinney, while the Hillson Eyerillians squad eyeballed a couple of goals of their own.

2nd Century Source for Sports defeated BMO Nesbitt Burns in Monday-night action with a lopsided game. 2nd Century sourced several goals each from Brooklyn Reed, Charlotte Cronshaw and Rebekah Lacroix with strong passing by Maya Favaro. BMO fought back hard with two goals by Emily Taylor, a single by Brielle Hodgkinson-Armstrong and strong passing by Kinsley Driedger.

In the U9 division, players worked hard to join teams in the rain and focused on their play making, and defensive skills. Looking forward to more action next week.
