ORILLIA LAKERS YOUTH BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

The Burton Team of Investment Planning Council Orillia Lakers bantam girls won a silver medal at the recent provincial championships in Niagara.
The Lakers defeated the Canadian Basketball Academy 26-19 in their opening game of the Ontario Cup. A convincing 34-15 victory over Stratford and a 33-11 win over Milton led the Lakers to a 3-0 record in their pool and a berth in the final.
In the gold-medal game, the Lakers played amazing defence, but could not get the shots to fall, eventually falling to Bracebridge.
