Little Lady Kings rack up goals in recent house league action

Many players notched hat tricks during a high-scoring night at the West Orillia Sports Complex

It was a high-scoring night in Orillia for the Lady Kings house-league program on Monday night.

In the U7 division, players filled the net with goals. Hadley Elliott led the way with nine goals for the BMO Nesbitt Burns Bright green team. Matilda Walker was close behind with five. Zoey Beaudin had a hat trick, while Sydney Kennedy and Eleanor Damery-Giannunzio each scored two. Single goals were scored by Gracie Fess and Camden O’Connor. Liv Davis was a big helper with three assists, while Quinn Laughlin helped with an assist as well.

The Kutting Edge Pink team answered back with a lot of goals of their own. Lucy Gammon led the way with four goals, while Annabelle Aguilar Mitchell and Katrina Calabretta each scored a hat trick. Palmer Mainer and Rylee Murphy scored a pair each while single tallies were scored by Blake Bomberry, Vivienne Miller, Monroe Macintosh and Kamryn Curtis.

In U9 action, Northern Elite and 2nd Century Source for Sports kept it close with a 2-1 win for 2nd Century. Isabella Beaudin and Talia Guerrera scored for the win, with assists by Norah Whelan and Beya Beaudin. Northern Elite answered back with a goal by Kayla Beard and an assist by Mikayla O’Link. The Stoutts RE/MAX played to a hard-fought 4-1 win over Millwood Logistics. Goal scorers were Scarlett Stoutt and Olivia Hopkins with two goals each, with assists from Addison Atkinson and Haddie Buchner. Maeve Runk battled back with a goal for Millwood.

The U11 division saw some excitement with a 6-1 win by Tryon Construction over Atmosphere Electric. Tryon goals were led by Kylie Homan with a hat trick, and singles by Abigail Catterall, Rebekah Lacroix and Sadie Kuula. Violet Whelan, Quinn Wilson and Catterall all helped with assists. Atmosphere Electric fought back with a goal by Lila Phillips, who was battling hard for the ball. Vivian Laurin cradled well and won the draws to help the team with an assist. The team played great defence and Lauren Bomberry was excellent in net.

In other U11 action, Champlain Ready Mix showed up ready to play and won 8-1 over St. Louis Bar and Grill. Brielle Hodgkinson-Armstrong didn’t let an injury slow her down and scored four goals. Chloe Crittenden, Lucy Edwards, Ali Almeida and Vivian Ashcroft each scored a goal. Isla Quinn answered back with a goal of her own for St. Louis, from assists by Page and Zoe McLeod. Emma Morton played well in net.

The U13 and U15 girls played hard in their games, too. Mariposa Landscaping won out over Mid Ontario Disposal with a score of 8-6. Mariposa goals were scored by Anna Fagan with a hat trick, Chelsea Currie with two and Chloe Weiler, Katie Bunting and Billie Rouse with a goal each. Mid Ontario found the net as well with two goals by Brooklyn Page, and singles by Kaydence Thompson, Jorja Davies, Rayne Noganosh and Sienna Cryer. Assists were marked by Cadence Nixon and Emily Taylor.

Atmosphere Electric were plugged right in on their 5-3 win over Strachan and Morris Insurance. Winning goals were scored by Peyton Hoyt and Kaelyn McDonald with two each, and a single marker by Rylee-Lynn Daly. Elyse Faulkner helped with an assist. Strachan and Morris goals were scored by Ryleigh McGuire, Eiley Hayes and Ava Wara. McGuire and Kiley Kennedy were both great on defence.

Teams will be out in full force on Monday again for practices and games.
