Local fans enjoy first Muay Thai Fight Night (9 photos)

A dozen matches featured diverse array of fighters of varying ages and weight classes

An enthusiastic crowd was on hand Saturday night at Rotary Place for the inaugural Muay Thai Fight Night.

Organized by Orillia’s Black Lotus Academy, run by Nic Langman, there were 12 matches that featured a diverse array of fighters in various weight classes during the Muay Thai Ontario-sanctioned event.

“We want to set a precedent,” Langman told OrilliaMatters earlier this month. “I want the community to have something they can look forward to every year, and I want them to be entertained.”

The action-packed event featured athletes from Orillia, Barrie, Toronto, Ottawa and elsewhere in the province.
