Sherry and Wayne Middaugh have enjoyed a marriage that's featured plenty of rocks.

Now, the local husband and wife curling champions will share what has helped keep them on level ground during their long curling careers as they join host Fred Hacker for the upcoming A Day in the Life discussion at the Midland Cultural Centre Wednesday evening.

“It’s wonderful when someone excels at their career, hobby or sport,” a release for the event states. “But it’s exceptional when both a husband and wife reach the highest levels in the same pursuit. Wayne and Sherry Middaugh have both excelled at curling, as competitors and as coaches.”

Wayne Middaugh is the only curler in the history of the sport to win the Brier and World Championships three times at three different positions. He is also six-time World Curling Tour Players champion.

Sherry Middaugh, meanwhile, has competed in the Canadian Scotties on seven occasions, representing both her home province of Saskatchewan and Ontario, and is a three-time Ontario Seniors champion.

Both Middaughs are also qualified and successful curling coaches. And, not only have both spouses achieved so much, but their daughters are now following in their footsteps in competitive curling.

The event gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 plus taxes and fees and are available by clicking here.
