The Orillia Lakers U10 Novice Girls are continuing to build offensive and defensive skills both on and off the basketball court.

The novice team faced opponents that were tough and skilled this past weekend at the IEM Open Invitational Tournament. Each of the four games was played with determination and a positive attitude.

Despite losing three of the four contests, the young girls continue to bring both the character of sportsmanship to the courtside as well as their abundance of laughter and smiles.

The team’s sponsor, Dan Parnell of Royal LePage, had this to say: “I'm proud to sponsor such a determined team with great enthusiasm. They make watching the game so much fun! They've all come a long way in a short time and that's a huge credit to them and their coaches. Keep up the great work!”

The girls will be practising hard to get ready for a tournament in Collingwood on Jan. 19 and the Steve Bazuk Memorial Tournament hosted by the Barrie Royals on Jan. 25. Good luck girls!
