THE ORILLIA CHANNEL CATS SWIM CLUB

The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club recently held a sanctioned in-house time trial at the Orillia Recreation Centre.
Swimmers from the Bronze, Silver and Gold training groups were in attendance. Participants were able to race in two individual events each, and achieved a team total of 88 per cent personal best times.
“Our swimmers were beyond ready to race, after being off for so long due to the pandemic,” says Channel Cats head coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards. “This also gave our club’s officials an opportunity to use/learn the new electronic timing system. Everyone involved was pretty excited to be on deck again.”
Racing opportunities are slowly being introduced for clubs across the province, and clubs are required to continue to follow COVID protocols and the 'Return to Racing' framework set by Swim Ontario.
