The Orillia Channel Cat Swim Club recently competed in the Etobicoke long-course pentathlon.

Swimmers were entered in five events during the three-hour session. Each swimmer competed in 100-metre butterfly, 100-metre backstroke, 100-metre breaststroke, 100-metre freestyle and 200-metre individual medley.

“This meet was considered a test of endurance, both physically and mentally,” says coach Tatum Haslem.

Swimmers did not have very much recovery time between their events, which left little time to refuel  and rehydrate.

“We are very proud of how well the swimmers handled the additional pressure of back-to-back racing for five events,” adds Haslem.

Swimmers in attendance include Rydaar Watt, Kael Cresanto, Anna Vurma, Sam Pecorella, Fedor Radzievskii, Emma Edgerton, Carmen Conroy, Ava Fairgrieve, Georgia Cameron, Taryn Fenton, Adair Wieclawek, Blythe Wieclawek, Maelle Mooney, Riley Shore, Grace Hunter, Nadine Ackert, Isabella Brown, Sophia Brown and Maelle Bouchard.
