NEWS RELEASE
ORILLIA CURLING CLUB
*************************
September is here and we reluctantly bid adieu to the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

As the crisp fall days approach, our minds turn to winter and how we’ll keep active when the snow flies.

The Orillia Curling Club (OCC) is celebrating its 150th year in Orillia, and has some ideas for you. We want to expand our curling family and promote this wonderfully social sport. Everyone is welcome and new members receive a 25 per cent discount on membership fees in their first year.

The curling club is holding an open house/in-person registration on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Barnfield Point Recreation Centre, 500 Atherley Rd. The OCC invites you to come and find out what we’re all about.

The club has a wide variety of membership options to accommodate different schedules and budgets: full season, half-season, once a week, twice a week, unlimited, pay-to-play and, new this year, the player’s card, which allows the card holder to play 11 times in either tag league games or to spare in regular team leagues. The pay-to-play option allows you to come out for a lesson to try it out, or just play occasionally when you can’t commit to a regular schedule.

Check the website for further details about all the exciting things going on at the club in this, our 150th year, in Orillia. Online registration for the upcoming season is open now and is just a few clicks away at the OCC website: orillicurlingclub.ca.
