The first games of the season got underway Monday at the West Orillia Sports Complex fields.

Our youngest field lacrosse players, the Little Lady Kings, battled hard to the end. The BMO Nesbitt Burns Green team edged out Kutting Edge Pink team with an 8-6 win. The Kutting Edge goals were scored by Audrey Gammon, Monroe MacIntosh, Palmer Mainer and Kamryn Curtis while Lucy Gammon scored two.

In the U9 division, scoring was low but spirits were high while the Stoutts RE/MAX team came out on top of 2nd Century Source for Sports with a 2-1 win. Scarlett Stoutt netted two for the winning team with assists from Olivia Hopkins. Norah Belviso scored the lone goal for 2nd Century. In the match-up between Northern Elite and Millwood Logistics, the action was heated in a 5-3 win by Millwood Logistics. Harper MacDonell started the season with a hat trick, while Brooke Clarke and Isabelle Oullette-Darling netted singles. Addison Hunt and Arabella Edwards each marked assists. Northern Elite held strong with two goals by Kayla Beard and a single by Caleigh Basta. Assists were marked by Baileigh Brain, Emma Jones and Isla Aguilar Mitchell.

The U11 teams came ready to play, but goalies made outstanding saves, keeping scoring to a minimum. St. Louis Bar and Grill outscored Atmosphere Electric 2-0. Winning goals were scored by Avery Saunders and Cara Georgas. In other U11 action, Tryon Construction cemented their win over Champlain Ready Mix in a 5-3 game. Tryon Construction goals were scored by Leighton Mainer with a hat trick and Rebekah Lacroix with two goals. Brielle Hodgkinson-Armstrong netted two goals, while Brooklyn Reed added one for Champlain Ready Mix.

The U13 and U15 division kept the fans on the edge of their seats Monday. Mid Ontario Disposal dominated Strachan and Morris in a 6-2 win. Mid Ontario goals were scored by Kaydence Thompson, Kyah Thompson, Brooklyn Page, Jana Ball and two goals by Mya Roe. Emersyn McLaughlin and Hailey Devine scored for Strachan and Morris, while Madlyne MacCormack and Olive-Marie Bomberry helped with assists.
