The Orillia Legion Br. 34 U16 girls continued their winning ways earning two more victories over the weekend at the Toronto Pan Am Centre in Ontario “B” Basketball League action.

In the first game, Lilja Toland dominated the contest, putting up 22 points against the Markham Elite, helping the Lakers roll to a 55-40 victory.

Also scoring for Orillia was Emma Thomson and Ashley Schryer, who contributed seven points each. After building an early lead the Lakers cruised the rest of the way for the win.

Against the Dundas Dynamos, though, the girls struggled to score. It was one of those games where nothing seemed to fall for the Lakers.

Playing tenacious defence, the girls kept the game close until some shots started to fall and pulled out a close 35-31 victory to keep their undefeated streak alive.

Emma Thomson led the way with nine points, followed by Zoe Peeters with seven and Lauryn Buchan with six.

The Lakers now sport an impressive 11-0 record.
