The Wes Brennan Construction Orillia Junior Royals are off to a torrid start in this year's baseball season with an impressive 10-0 record and a commanding lead atop the North Dufferin Baseball League standings.
The Royals have 20 points, while the second-place Creemore Padres have only 11 points.
The Royals have been dominant in almost every category, outscoring their opponents 112-27 so far. The offence, so far, has been dominant with the Royals having the best team batting average at .412 and the four best batters in the league. Whyatt Winkel is batting .684, Owen Kaczowski .667, Jhett Winkel .538 and Andrew Browne .583.
Orillia also has three other batters in the top 10: Lucas Mackey, Chase Brennan (.400) and Ben Barzo (.393).
On the mound, the story is the same as Orillia has the top two ranked starting pitchers in Wyatt Thompson and Nolan MacNeal, each with four wins, while Kobe Geofroy is first with saves at three.
The team defence has also been sound, sporting a .950 fielding percentage.
