The Orillia National Nutrition senior slo-pitch team defeated Bracebridge twice this week to move atop the Simcoe-Muskoka Senior Softball League standings.

With two wins in Bracebridge this week, the National Nutrition senior slo-pitch team now resides atop all teams in the Simcoe-Muskoka Senior Softball League.

In game one, the Orillia seniors led all the way, emerging with a convincing 22-3 win. For Orillia, Chris Beelik led the way with a monster home run with both Beelik and Robb Barsevich going perfect at the plate during the contest.

In the second half of the doubleheader, Orillia once again dominated with a lopsided 22-10 victory. For the National Nutrition squad, Chis Beelik, Rick Gardy, Hardy O’Connell, George Belanger and Wayne Martin were each perfect at the plate while Rob Milligan and Wayne Martin shared pitching duties for both wins.

Robb Barsevich was able to start a fire in relief in game two but Milligan extinguished the flames in the seventh inning.

Orillia travels to Barrie next week to face The Kage senior team from Barrie returning home the following week to play the Penetang/Midland seniors at Tudhope Park.
