A very strong start to the day at the 15U Girls Bugarski Cup resulted in the Orillia Suns 15U Flare winning both their morning matches in two straight sets and finishing first in their pool.

One of the matches saw the team come back from a 23-16 deficit to win the set 28-26, which was a great confidence booster.

In the playoffs, the Orillia team quickly dispatched their first opponent, which led to a lengthy break before facing their biggest challenge of the day in the Durham Region Volleyball Club. In three very close sets, Durham edged the Flare out of the gold-medal match.

Playing for bronze, the Thundercats Force took the first set, but the Flare bounced right back by winning the second by a wide margin. Fueled by the comeback, the Orillia Suns Flare 15U cruised through the final set to take bronze - their first medal win of the season.
