Patrick Fogarty's top student athletes recognized with awards

Active students' athletic feats celebrated at year-end athletic banquet

As the school year winds down, Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School recently hosted its athletic banquet to recognize its student athletes and celebrate their achievements.

The following major awards were presented as part of the event:

Students Aiden Russell-Moodie and James Hill-Kent were named the co-winners of the Josh McParland Award for their contribution to basketball. The award was presented by Josh's father, Mike McParland, and teacher Fred Bosco.

Grade 9 student Zachary Clarke, who played volleyball, hockey and lacrosse this year was named Fogarty's junior boys athlete of the year.

Sophia Columbus, a Grade 10 student who played basketball, volleyball and slo-pitch, earned the junior girls athlete of the year award.

Sam Bosco has been a strong athlete throughout his time at Patrick Fogarty. In his final year, the Grade 12 student shone in both basketball and volleyball en route to being named the school's senior boys' athlete of the year.

Grade 11 student Kennedy Clarke, who played basketball, volleyball and lacrosse, was named the senior girls' athlete of the year.
