RAMARA ROCKETS

The Theo’s Eatery Ramara Rockets U16 girls' soccer team recently captured the U16 Division championship at the Lake Simcoe All-Star Soccer Tournament.
The Rockets, led by a strong defence of Grace Dobson, Kaitlyn Roberts, Carmen Barcelona and Jenna Lee, defeated West Lincoln of Niagara Falls 1-0 in the championship contest.
Halfbacks Gabriella Chiaramida, Claire Lassaline and Abby Whalen kept feeding forwards Avery Dobson, Krystal Priddle and Mattea Wafelbakker until Wafelbakker found the back of the net for the win. Goalkeeper Elaine Treash was solid in giving the Rockets the win.
In their first game of the tourney, the defence and halfbacks Sarinna Foy, Miquella Castilla Sears and Brooke Priddle helped the Rockettes defeat Toronto High Park 3-0. Krystal Priddle had two goals and Avery Dobson one. Treash got the shutout and also stopped a penalty kick.
In their second game versus West Lincoln, the Rockets won 2-1. Avery Dobson scored one and Gabriella Chiaramida scored with 30 seconds left for the win. Treash earned the win in net.
Having already qualified for the final, the Rockets rested several key players during their third game versus Aurora. The game ended in a 0-0 tie. Treash recorded the shutout.
The Rockets surrendered one goal all weekend (via a penalty kick) while recording three shutouts.
