ORILLIA LADY KINGS

Spring is around the corner and in Orillia, that means lacrosse season.
The Orillia Lady Kings are gearing up for another fabulous season of field lacrosse. Registration is now open for both the house league and rep teams. All players are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to help organizers best anticipate numbers of players, teams and field requirements. Our early-bird registration discount fee is available until March 18, after which time the price increases.
The Orillia Lady Kings house league program runs on Monday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at West Orillia Sports Complex in May and June. The first night is May 6. All girls born in 2010 to 2019 are welcome to sign up and try a season of field lacrosse. No experience necessary. This is a great opportunity to join other girls in a fun, team environment, learning to play our national sport. The house league program is fortunate to be coached primarily by veteran Lady Kings players, who are wonderful role models for our younger lacrosse players.
Each Monday evening consists of a team practice followed by a game. All U7 and U9 players who are new to the sport this year will receive a free stick and goggles. New players in older age groups will also receive support with equipment, which will be determined closer to the start of the season.
The Orillia Lady Kings also offer a more competitive rep program, which provides girls the opportunity to try out for a team that will compete at a high level in Ontario. Games are played during the weekends at different centres throughout the province and teams practise twice weekly in Orillia. Everyone is welcome to register to try out for a rep team in Orillia.
Orillia Lady Kings in collaboration with Orillia Minor Lacrosse are running a Try Lacrosse program in February and March. This program allows young people to learn some lacrosse skills for free and decide whether they would like to register for the spring programs.
