ORILLIA FIGURE SKATING CLUB

Ben Anderson is a member of the Orillia Figure Skating Club.

He is a very talented six-year-old with lots of energy and dedication. He will compete this year at the Star 4 freeskate level. He is currently working on Star 4 skills and Swing dance.

Ben also excels in lacrosse and enjoys swimming with his little brother and big sister in his spare time. He is coached by Susan Scott and Markus Leminen.

The Orillia Figure Skating Club offers the following programs at Rotary Arena and Brian Orser Arena on Mondays and Wednesday evenings beginning Wednesday Oct. 16 2019:

PreCan

For children 3 to 5 years of age as of Dec. 31. This learn to skate program teaches children how to stand up, move forward and change directions. A one-to-two ratio is provided to skaters until they are able to skate on their own.

CanSkate

This learn to skate program incorporates fun with the basics of skating. Skaters receive ribbons and badges for each of the six stages completed.

PrePower

This program runs along side CanSkate sessions and teaches the core power skating skills (agility, endurance, and speed) needed for hockey. PrePower ribbons are rewarded to skaters who complete each level.
