ORILLIA MINOR LACROSSE ASSOCIATION

Orillia’s Kings are kings. The U13 boy’s field lacrosse team won a provincial championship last weekend.
In round-robin play Saturday, Orillia opened with a romp, earning a 14-2 decision against Brampton 2.
In Game 2, Orillia edged Mimico 9-8 in a nail biter, before defeated Oakville 2, 11-9.
On Sunday, the Kings won an intense battled over Whitby 2, 12-6 in the semi-final clash.
In the championship game, Orillia beat the Toronto Stars 7-4 to clinch the crown.
On attack (offence) for the Kings were: Hunter McLaughlin, Zeke Neely, Will Cousineau, Lexon Strong and Michael Murphy.
Middle field players include Jake Curran, Max Schryer, Devun Colebrook, Tanner Thayer, Ben King, Connor Varley, Ryan Craftchick, Evan Gliddon.
Playing long pole (defence) were Brycen Murray, Carter McLaughlin, Hunter Holmes, Hunter Coolbear, and Kai Patterson.
In net, Chase Beiers was outstanding all weekend.
On the bench were head coach Stephen McLaughlin, assistant coaches Jeff McLaughlin and Brent Murray, trainer DJ McLaughlin and manager, Nicole Murray
The boys played their hearts out and played five great games of lacrosse. They we solid on defence and moved the ball well in the offensive zone.
