Soon, school will be out for the summer.
But before classes officially end, Twin Lakes Secondary School recently held its annual Athletic Banquet to recognize its top student athletes.
The event, organized by the school's Athletic Council, featured a year-in-review of sports presented as part of a slideshow that turned the spotlight on many of the successes of the past school year.
The school's hospitality program provided snacks and fruit trays while coaches delivered heartfelt speeches and presented an array of awards.
The following are the major award winners:
Payton Burnett and Lauren LeDrew were name co-winners of the Twin Lakes Junior Female Athlete of the Year Award.
Eleanor Waite was recognized as the Female Athlete of the Year.
Jacob Hazel earned the Junior Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Spencer Corston was named the school's Senior Male Athlete of the Year.
Brogan Long and Rein Keppo won the Coaches Award,
Lauren Irwin and Braydon Walsh earned the Randy Kitchen Award of Excellence for Athletic Council.
Blythe Wieclawek earned the Athletic Scholar award.
On top of the major awards, most valuable players, most improved players and top rookies were recognized in each of the sports played at Twin Lakes.
