NEWS RELEASE
MIND TO MUSCLE
*************************
Mind to Muscle (M2M), Orillia Sports Medicine, the Barrie Colts OHL hockey club and Purolator are teaming up to collect food for the Barrie and Orillia food banks.

Orillia’s Sharing Place Food Centre is a “community food bank,” 100 per cent supported by our local residents, and makes a significant difference in the lives of women, men and children.

On Wednesday, July 27, at 5 p.m., at the Allandale Recreation Centre in Barrie, athletes from both Barrie and Orillia will play in the M2M Cup. We are asking the community to bring a non-perishable donation for the Barrie Food Bank to the game, or drop food off locally for the Sharing Place at Orillia Sports Medicine.

The community is invited to watch M2M athletes play in the M2M Cup 2022, showcasing their skills and translating them from the M2M training facility to the ice. This game includes some of the region’s best players from pro, OHL, NCAA and CIS.

This free event will feature Charlie Horse from the Barrie Colts, free popcorn and free Domino’s pizza for those bringing food to the event (while quantities last). The featured event is a fast-paced, competitive hockey game with some of the area’s best local hockey talent. Our prime goal is to assist the food banks, and help restock their shelves.

We want your help. Drop by and be entertained by the speed and skill of these local elite hockey players, and bring along a food donation. Admission is free.

Many local players, and former North Central Predators players, are anticipated to participate along with a full roster of pro and OHL players:

Chas Sharpe, Mississauga Steelheads, OHL

Ian Lemieux, Barrie Colts, OHL

Brett Bressette, Erie Otters, OHL

Ian Phillips, Saginaw Spirit, OHL

Ethan Larmand, Sudbury Wolves, OHL

Tyler Tucker, of the St. Louis Blues organization

Payton Schaly, Plymouth State, NCAA

Aiden Pethick, Minnesota Blades, Espanola, NOJHL
