Vikings slay OSS Nighthawks in rain-drenched semi-final contest

The season ends for OSS while Barrie North moves on to the league championship game against Collingwood

A strong season came to an abrupt end for the Orillia Secondary School junior boys' football team on Monday.

The Barrie North Vikings broke open a tight game and pulled away with a couple of touchdowns in the third-quarter to earn a 22-6 win in their Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) semifinal game.

The Vikings beat the Nighthawks on a rainy, windy and chilly afternoon at Georgian College's J.C. Massie Field in Barrie.

Barrie North now moves on to the SCAA finals against Collingwood, who beat Nantyr Shores 17-6 on Monday.

The championship game will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m., at J.C. Massie Field at Georgian College.
