Tiny Township has teed up plans for the 2021 mayor’s charity golf tournament.
On September 10, the event will return as a live, in-person fundraiser at the Orr Lake Golf Club.
“We are looking forward to making this year’s event a comeback to remember,” said Mayor George Cornell. “Thanks to generous participants, sponsors and donors, the Tournament has raised over $260,000 for more than 20 local North Simcoe charitable organizations since 2015.”
This year’s fundraising goal of $50,000 will directly benefit the following organizations: Angels with Backpacks, Askennonia Senior Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe, Boys and Girls Clubs of North Simcoe, CLH Foundation, Gateway Centre for Learning, Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre, Hospice Huronia, Huronia Community Foundation, MTM Conservation Association, Quest Art School + Gallery, Scientists in School, Sistema Huronia Music Academy, Special Olympics Ontario, We Are The Villagers, Wendat Community Programs, Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.
Golf foursomes are $600, single players $150, which includes a guaranteed tee-time, 18 holes with cart, player registration gift, meal, snacks & refreshments, silent auction, raffles, course competitions and prizes. Space is limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.
While the township noted that it recognizes the financial hardships being endured by many businesses as a result of the current economic climate, a variety of sponsorship and donation opportunities are available to those who may feel able and willing to support this community event. While the Tiny Cottager is the founding sponsor of this year's offering, other sponsorships range from the $7,500 title sponsorship to the $50 golf cart sign.
In addition, the township is grateful for donations to the silent auction and raffle draws.
