Fire bans issued for Midland, Tiny Township, Penetanguishene this weekend

MidlandToday received the following notices regarding fire bans for both the Township of Tiny and the Town of Penetanguishene:

Township of Tiny Fire and Emergency Services is declaring a Fire Ban effective as of 12:01 a.m. July 4, 2020.

All open air burning, including fireworks, is prohibited due to the extreme temperature and heat, and the lack of any significant precipitation. All permits are suspended during the fire ban.

 For more information, please contact the Fire and Emergency Services Department at 705 322-1161 Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please be advised that a complete fire ban for the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene has been issued as of Friday July 3, 2020. 

This ban has been issued in response to the lack of rain and current dry conditions. 

Conditions will be monitored daily. Residents will be advised when the ban is lifted.
