Tiny Tim will come to your home this year

Chesterfield Theatre by Huronia Players will allow area residents a chance to enjoy a night out while staying in
Christmas CarolHiRes

Huronia Players' first production of the season is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

This adaptation of the Dickens classic will be read by a group of talented HP actors, featuring Ross Skoggard, Ann Johnston, Rhona Millar, John LeClair, Skip Hartnell and Cee Fischer and includes locally produced music between each stave.

The upcoming production has been recorded from the stage of the Huronia Players theatre and will be broadcast online on December 12 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are free for this unique on-line event and can be found here.

When COVID-19 hit back in March, it shut down the rehearsals for the Huronia Players' final production of the 2019-2020 season - The Old Man and The Moon.

As restrictions have lingered, the local theatre company has been brainstorming how best to present the 2020-2021 theatre season.

Social distancing guidelines make it difficult to present live performances in a small theatre, as well as have the multitude of cast and crew working to put such a production together, the troupe noted. The final solution is the innovative idea of 'Chesterfield Theatre.'

This season, Huronia Players will be presenting three productions, all of which will be made available online.  That way, you can still enjoy “live” theatre from the warmth and comfort of your own home.

“Your help with supporting our local theatre through this challenging year with a donation would be greatly appreciated and can be made while reserving your tickets,” the theatre company noted in a statement.

“If you are missing live theatre as much as the rest of us, this is the perfect opportunity to get your theatre ‘fix,’ as well as help to put you into the Christmas spirit.”
