Two local men ordered to stand trial for Wasaga Beach shooting

Charges linked to February 2019 shooting in a residential neighbourhood; Victim later released from hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Two men have been ordered to stand trial in the Feb. 10, 2019 shooting of a man in Wasaga Beach.

Darren Ellery of Midland, who was 26 at the time, faces a trial on a charge of accessory after the fact and his co-accused Cody White was committed to stand trial on a charge of attempted murder.

The victim was taken from the residential Wesley Avenue area, near River Road West and Zoo Park Road, to hospital and was later released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ellery, 27, was charged more than a month after the shooting as police continued to search for another suspect.

White, also 27, of Tiny Township, was subsequently charged as well.
