Experience world-class wines from the comfort of home on Friday, June 11 at The Finer Senses, DeafBlind Ontario Foundation’s virtual blind wine-tasting experience.

Prior to the event, three bottles of wine and food samples to complement each will be delivered to your door for contactless delivery. Then, guests will explore their senses in a one-of-a-kind blind wine tasting, led by Trayvino Wine Company. Learn from this expert in the field and ask questions about pairings, varietals, regions and more. New this year, we will introduce an online auction beginning two weeks before the start of the event.

“Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or you’re looking for a fun Friday night during these challenging times, you are invited to an evening that will make a difference for people with deafblindness, while enjoying a unique tasting experience in your home,” says Susan Manahan, Director of Development and Communications.

The evening will start with tasting a wine originating from a land rich in history and diverse terrain, known as one of the best examples in the region from where it is produced. The second wine is from a sun-soaked region, which has juicy flavours, with both fruity and spicy notes. Lastly, guests will be invited to sip a blend from grapes grown at high altitude which gives this wine a rich aroma and elegant finish.

“With social distancing still in effect, we decided to host the event for a second year, introducing a new element – an online auction! We want to make the most of current circumstances and bring people together for a good cause during June’s National Deafblind Awareness Month,” said Susan.

The Finer Senses, presented by Resident Care Pharmacy and Silver Linings Health Care, raises funds for DeafBlind Ontario Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable foundation established to enhance the lives of people supported by DeafBlind Ontario Services. DeafBlind Ontario Services supports individuals who are Deaf, hard of hearing, non-verbal and deafblind with an array of services so they can live and thrive within the community.

Kick up your virtual gatherings a notch with a fun, unpretentious evening of wine tasting at home! Get your tickets by May 24 at 12 p.m. For more information and registration, please visit www.deafblindontario.com
