CHIGAMIK Waypoint Health Hub to host information session May 5.

Who: CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre and Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care

What: Health Hub information session

Where: Cedar Room, CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre, 845 King St., Midland

When: Monday, May 7, 2018, 4:30 to 6 p.m., formal remarks at 5 p.m.

Why: CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre and Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care are collaborating to build a Health Hub to deliver a range of services in the downtown area in a modern building situated in a park like setting. Existing and new services will be available to all area residents. The co-location of CHIGAMIK and Waypoint Community Services is an opportunity to enhance the health care experience of those who use these services benefitting people’s physical and mental health.

On May 7, the two organizations are hosting an Information Session for the community to view recent designs, discuss the plans and see some of the construction materials.

About Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is an internationally recognized specialty mental health hospital located on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in the Town of Penetanguishene. The hospital provides an extensive range of acute and longer-term psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services to all of Simcoe County, part of Dufferin County and the southern portion of Muskoka/Parry Sound. In addition, Waypoint provides Ontario’s only high secure forensic mental health program for patients served by both the mental health and justice systems.
