Rosemary Agapi, age 86, of Orillia, Ontario (originally Killarney, Ontario) passed away peacefully on April 7, 2019, at Trillium Manor Nursing Residence.  Rosemary, often called “Rosie”, was a loving and caring Mother, Nana and Friend.  She was a RNA for more than 30 years at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and closer to the end of her career she became the “house mother” at the nursing residence.  She was incredibly creative and a self-taught seamstress which culminated in designing and making wedding and bridesmaid dresses.  Later, she stretched this creativity to crafting too many items to mention and always had a long list of people waiting to benefit from her gift.  She was an incredible cook and baker and loved to share food and drink with family and friends which included story-telling and lots of laughter.  She was an avid gardener - both vegetables and flowers and often had the most colourful and vibrant garden on the street.

Rosemary was pre-deceased by daughter, Catherine Agapi and grandson Stephen of Okotoks, Alberta and survived by her daughter Roxanne Schwoob and husband Terry of St. Catharines, son Dan Agapi and wife Pamela of Calgary, son Lee Agapi and wife Patti of Orillia, and son Jon Agapi of Okotoks, Alberta.  She was a loving Nana to eight grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Justin, Kelly, Kyle, Kimberly, Ethan and Alex and great Nana to Phoenix.  She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-laws and family in St. Catharines, Ontario.

The family also wants to thank all of the staff and friends at Trillium Manor who made Rosemary’s final years happy and fulfilling.

Her cremation has already taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.   If desired, memorial contributions can be made in her name to The Canadian Diabetes Association or Recovery Acres Society, Calgary, Alberta.
