Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Friday July 7th, 2023, at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of Gladys Thorne and the late Joyce Ahrens. Loving father of Debbie Bailey, Carol Johnson (William), Marlon Ahrens (late Nancy) and stepchildren; Robin Boyes (Rodney), Julie Thorne (Mike), Carla Thorne (Kevin) and Laurie Thorne (Jason). Cherished grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Eldon Ahrens and Wilma Shields – both predeceased. Orval will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Thursday July 13th 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow. Interment will be held at Bracebridge Municipal Cemetery.
