Mrs. Joan Andrews (nee Lane) passed away peacefully in her 99th year on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at Spencer House in Orillia. Music and family meant everything to Joan.  Early in life, Joan enjoyed performing in operettas and musicals.  She became a well-respected piano and vocal teacher, and also an elementary music educator for many years with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. She and her late husband, Bill Andrews, entertained for many years with sing-a-longs at retirement and nursing homes across the GTA. As a widow Joan joined a 10 piece band playing piano and continued to entertain into her early 90’s.  Joan, a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, is survived by her seven children - Bernard (Angelie), Paulette (Ivan), Robert (Nancy), Bill (Diane), David, Joan, and Susan (Ken) - thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren with a few more on the way this year.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West St. N., Orillia, on Monday afternoon, March 15th, at 1:30.  Seating restrictions are in place so registration is required to attend.  Please call Mundells at (705) 325-2231 to reserve a space for the Mass.  For those unable to attend in person, the service will be recorded and made available at a later date on the Mundell Funeral Home YouTube Channel.  Private interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Markham.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Huntington Society or the Schizophrenia Society of Canada in her memory.
