Passed away peacefully at Spencer House, Orillia on Thursday August 24th, 2023, in her 97th year.
Born in Parry Sound, predeceased by her parents Victor and Eva Conner (nee Bundy). Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Annis (2010). Loving mother of Gayle Annis, Randy Annis and his wife Karen. Loving grandmother of Brad (Sara), Rene (Jen), Jason, and Josh (Trish); great-grandmother of Graham, Ross, Martin, Benjamin, Jacob, Joseph, Aria, and Zoey. Dear sister of Jane Hall, and predeceased by siblings Margaret, Gordon, Lorne and Norma.
Elva, known to many as “Connie”, grew up in Big Chute and enjoyed spending time outdoors and boating with her family. She loved singing all her life and served as the choir director for Core-Us 34. Elva was also a committed volunteer at the Legion and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital where she made many friends. She will be remembered by her friends and family as a person who loved to sing, smile, and help others.
A funeral service will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia on Monday, August 28th, 2023, at 11 am. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, Ontario SPCA Orillia, or to the RCL Branch 34 Orillia. Messages of condolence are welcomed.
