William “Harry” Arens passed away August 12th after a long and full life in his 92nd year. 

He is survived by his loving wife June Arens (Cousins) and daughters Angela Arens and Jane Marshall (Jeff).  He was adored by his three granddaughters Erika Hartog (Brian), Aren Marshall-Chen (Sandrae) and Taylor Timpf (Adam).  He was blessed with two great grandchildren Marshall Timpf and Kehlani Chen.  Harry was predeceased by two sisters Marg Sanderson and Tot (Elaine ) Craig.  He will be missed by his nieces and nephews.  Harry was a wonderful husband and father and he loved his family very much. 

He started his career with TCA (Trans Canada Airlines) in 1956.  He was a Captain with Air Canada and flew for 30 years.  He retired at age 55 and he fulfilled his wish of being retired more years than he worked.  He had many interests including cars, boats and motorcycles.  Thank you to the staff of Leacock Nursing Home , especially Home area 5.  We always felt that Harry was well taken care of and was happy there.  A special thanks to Dr. Brad Perrigo for his many years of care and kindness.

There will be a celebration of life at Mundell Funeral Home Friday August 19th.  Visitation from 12 to 1. Service to begin at 1.  Reception to follow. Donations would be appreciated to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Orillia Salvation Army or Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.  Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
