Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Champlain Manor on Saturday December 1st, 2018 in his 79th, year. Beloved husband of the late Darlene Ayers (nee Snead) and long time partner of the late Marlene Meggitt. Loving father of Glenda Egerton (Mike), Roxanne Quinn (Rob), and Orland Ayers. Cherished grandfather to Erin, Jeremiah, Craig, Andrew, Kristine, Dalton, Hayden, Austin, Faith and Bill. Great grandfather to Coby, Melanie, Riley, Kayden and Beverly. Great great grandfather to Layla. Step father to Cheryl, Tom (pre-deceased), Charlene and Chuck. Papa John and Popsie will be missed by many. Dear brother of Shirley Hutchinson (Don- pre deceased), Lillian Gray (Bill), Wayne Ayers (pre-deceased) (Louise) and Paul Ayers (Lorraine). John will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the staff at Champlain Manor for the excellent care and compassion. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East Orillia on Friday December 7th, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation or to the charity of your choice through the Simcoe Funeral Home 38 James St E.
