BACKUS, John Ross

Ross Backus passed away August 14, 2022, at Champlain Manor Retirement Residence in Orillia in his 98th year. Ross is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara. Cherished father of Donna, Joan (Ricky Schwartz) and Nancy (Bruce Archer) and loving grandfather to Tory Hearn (Ryan), Jeff Archer (Lauren), Ali Christie (Sean), Megan Archer (Ryan Duprey) and Loric and Élodie St-Onge as well as delighted great-grandfather to seven little ones. The family would like to thank the staff of Champlain Manor for their attentive care of our dad over the past several years. A graveside ceremony for family and close friends will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay followed by a Celebration of Life at Mackey Celebrations. If desired, donations may be made to his preferred charity Alzheimer Society of Canada in honour of his wife or to the charity of your choice.
