Passed peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Sunday June 25, 2023 in her 96th year.
Dimitra, loving wife to the late Konstantino, daughter of the late Panagiotis and Georgia Keleris, will be sadly missed by her children John, Chrisoula (Aleko) Kapsalis, Christos (Barb Rekounas), Elie (Athena), Toni (Peter) Marinakos, Nick (Colette Vella), Penny (Alexandros Petritis) Passarelli, and Gina (Doug) Betts, by her siblings Andonis and Giannis, and by her 26 Grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dimitra is also predeceased by her siblings George, Vasili, and Agello, by her son Peter, by her grandson Costas, and by her son in law Mike Passarelli.
Many thanks to Victoria House, Spencer House, Dr. Italiano including all the staff on floor 5 of Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital including Dr. Harmathy, Dr. Casault, and nurses Tonia, Priscilla, and Kimm who took such good care of her in her last few days.
The family will receive family and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Home 54 Coldwater Street E., Orillia, Ontario 705-326-3595 on Sunday July 2, 2023 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church 572 Penetanguishene Rd. Barrie, Ontario L4M 0H2 on Tuesday July 4, 2023 at 9 am. Interment to follow at St. Michaels RC Cemetery in Orillia.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
