It is with sadness, but gratitude for a wonderful long life, the family announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marjorie Betty Braham on August 11 at the age of 97. Dear wife of the Late George Braham (2001). Mother of Peter Braham (late Tonka), Marilyn Scott, (late Bob Scott) Doreen Sykes (late John Avey) and Kathryn Holtz. Loved grandmother of Susan Haley (]ohn) Jennifer Sykes Holmes(Jono), Jessica Holtz, Paul Scott (Linda) and Chad Holtz (Carrie). The absolute joy of her later years were her great grandchildren who called her Neeny, Daisy and Jake Holmes and Hannah Holtz. Their wonderful stories, magic tricks, sharing Pokémon cards, pictures drawn just for her and the constant stream of photos and messages on her iPad made her day.

Marjorie was a remarkable woman, a war bride from Colchester England who landed in Halifax Harbour in 1944 to begin a life in Canada with George. They spent many years in Orillia before moving to Toronto and then retiring in Sandy Cove Acres, Innisfil.

Mom was blessed with the best care possible in her last years. Tracy of the Muskoka Simcoe LHIN moved mountains to make it possible for mom to fulfil her wish to remain in her own home. Saint Elizabeth (SE Health) provided care from the most special people ....there were many and especially Sierya, Adineen and Tammy. But leading the charge of SE Heath’s talented caregivers, to keep mom independent and healthy, was Linda Newton who cared for mom tirelessly with humor and with much love.

Mom was blessed to have a family doctor, Dr. A Bedard, who provided that consistently wonderful care and attention you can only get from a compassionate, dedicated family doctor. We are so grateful to him. All this and the love of her family kept her safe and independent during these most difficult times for seniors.

The service will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mundell funeral home, Orillia and internment in the St Andrew’s-St. James’ Anglican Cemetery, Orillia.
