It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Eileen Cake Joyce. Mom passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the age of 80. She was the wife of the late Rudolph Hales, Kenneth Cake and Gordon Joyce. Loving mother of Roxanne, Faye, Sharon and Mark Richardson. Grandmother of 5, Pegeen, Mark Jr , Jordan, Carissa and Michael Richardson. Great grandmother of two, Zariah and Chance.
Mom was born and raised in Guyana, South America to her parents Iris and Issac Chapman. Mom left Guyana and flew to Canada in early 1970 to create a new life for her and her children. Bringing her children to Canada in the year 1981 was her greatest accomplishment.
Mom loved gardening and won several awards for beautifying Orillia with all the beautiful flowers she grew and lovingly attended to every Summer.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at the Cardinal Funeral Home (366 Bathurst Street, Toronto) from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene (477 Manning Ave, Toronto) on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:00am.
